Since word has gotten out about my interest in running for Illinois Secretary of State in 2022, I’ve been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement from people across our great state.
Today, I’m announcing the launch of a statewide virtual listening tour – “Alexi Listens” – to hear directly from Illinoisans.
Given the frustration Americans have experienced after four years of Donald Trump in the White House, we need to repair the broken relationship between government and the people and restore trust in our institutions and elected leaders.
I’m running because I believe I have the ideas, the energy and the record to help move us in a new direction that is focused on rebuilding that trust.
Achieving this goal can only start when there is a commitment to our most valuable resource in Illinois – our people, whose thoughts, perspectives and input are essential.
Secretary of State Jesse White first ran for office because he was inspired by theRev. Martin Luther King Jr’s passion to help people and make America a better place. Since Day One, Secretary White has always done it for the right reasons.While I can never fill his shoes, I want to build on that legacy, appreciating the value of his lifelong leadership and remarkable service to the people of Illinois.
