Giannoulias Receives New Support from Elected Officials for SOS Bid

Officials Representing Chicago, Suburbs and Collar Counties Make Endorsements

Democrat Alexi Giannoulias’ campaign for Illinois Secretary of State today announced endorsements from several state and local elected officials, adding to an already broad base of support.

“These latest endorsements demonstrate the wide coalition of support that we continue to receive from throughout the State,” said Giannoulias, the former State Treasurer. “They know we will fight for working families and modernize the office to make it more accessible and equitable for all Illinoisans. I’m honored to have earned their support.”

The endorsements include:

  • State Senator Cristina Castro (D-22), representing areas in Cook and Kane Counties
  • State Senator Patrick Joyce (D-40), representing areas in Cook, Grundy, Kankakee and Will Counties
  • State Senator, Bridgeview Mayor and Lyons Township Democratic CommitteePerson Steve Landek (D-11), representing the Southwest Side of Chicago and Southwest Suburbs
  • State Representative Kelly Burke (D-36), representing the Southwest Suburbs
